Who I Am

Having been introduced to the Pilates method at the young age of 8 years old, you could say that this practice is embedded into my body. The Pilates method helped keep my body and mind in tiptop shape as a professional ballet dancer by keeping the smaller, intrinsic muscles that are needed to stabilize joints, strong! When I did get injured or was recovering from my foot surgery years after I retired, Pilates was there for me yet again, to pick me up off the floor and provide a safe form of rehabilitative exercise that was effective in getting me back on my feet, quite literally. I became certified to teach in 2011 and have loved every single minute of it. Sharing my biggest passion with clients and watching them achieve their personal goals makes me heart explode!

What I Do

I pride myself in my ability to tailor sessions to a client’s personal goals. In our initial meeting, we will take 5-10 minutes discussing your exercise history, past/current injuries, and any surgeries that are limiting your body. As a lifelong student of kinesiology, I can easily assess what postural imbalances you have and muscles that are short/tight and long/weak. I then program a Pilates session catered towards your needs to help guide your body back into its natural, proper alignment so you will be able to carry your body in this new posture.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO

I instruct because I want people to perform optimally. What do I mean by “perform”? Whatever that means to you! Maybe you want to be able to continue to pick up your grandkids without your back going out, maybe you are training for a sub-2 hour half marathon, maybe you twisted your ankle in ballet class? Whatever your ailment or goal is, I want to help you reach that goal to be able to move with ease, efficiency, and the best mechanics your body can have!

Why you should train with me

I am your trainer if you are looking for someone who knows the in’s and out’s of the musculoskeletal system. With a keen eye and my attention to detail, we spend time perfecting form and understanding why that form is important. With me as your trainer, you will not simply be taught random exercises. I train you and teach you why you are doing these exercises and why they will help you! I also provide homework exercises as well, to keep you motivated in between our sessions, and have a YouTube channel with full-length workouts that do not require any equipment at all!
